Ľubica Oberučová’s Artist Statement

Ľubica Oberučová is an artist who lives, works and creates in Košice, Slovakia. Painting is a way of life for Ľubica, the only real freedom she has. She has created her own art style, which she characterize as stylized painting by acrylic and oil on a structured substrate, where the structure becomes part of the image. Abstraction and stylized abstracted motifs of nature, especially trees, are her most common subject matter.

Most of Ľubica’s images are the materialization of her inner life, a show of what she feels and the way she lives. Her paintings express all of her emotions – joy, passion, love, sorrow and sadness.

Ľubica has participated in numerous exhibitions in Slovakia since 2001. Her work has also been exhibited internationally in Germany, Poland and Hungary.
