Welcome to Into the Wild – Fusion Art’s 8th Quarterly International Art Exhibition.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists were invited to share their best work depicting wildlife. The wildlife theme included any undomesticated animal species including any wild mammal, wild fish, wild bird or wild reptile. All artists, over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best wildlife art and photography.

We are truly humbled at the response we received from this competition. We once again received a diverse collection of quality artwork from artists all around the world including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Norway, Iran, Thailand, Kuwait, India, Spain, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

In this quarterly themed exhibition Fusion Art presents awards in three categories: Traditional Art, Digital Art & Photography and 3-Dimensional Art. The Into the Wild Best in Show winners are Esther van Hulsen for her acrylic on canvas, “Intense (Grey Wolf)”, Codie Moore for her photography and digital art, “Lone Huntress” and Jeff Jones for his bronze (shown in clay), “Crossing the Mara.” As the Best in Show winners, all three artists are invited to participate in Fusion Art’s 3rd Annual Group Show in Palm Springs in February 2019.

Other award winners include Second Place winners, Magali Lapeyre-Mirande for her graphite on paper, “Symbiosis”, Sheri Emerson for her photograph, “Charge!” and Douglas Aja for his bronze, “Mourning Erin”. Third Place awards were given to Kathy Paulus for her pastel on paper, “Siberian Tiger,” Barbara Mierau-Klein for her digital art, “Fierce Buzzard,” and Linda Teachey for her ceramic with acrylic paint, “Eat At Lell’s”. Fourth Place awards were given to Susan McCulley for her scratchboard, “Lion”, Nick Dale for his photograph, “Blue Wildebeest Silhouetted Against Sun on Horizon” and Elizabeth Perez for her wool fiber sculpture, “Leo”. Fifth Place awards were given to Kathy Christian for her colored pencil, “Tag Team, African Painted Dogs”, Ann Wehner for her digital photo manipulation, “I’m Marching On To The Beat I Drum” and Isabelle Zab for her steel sculpture, “Chromodoris I”.

Please visit the Into the Wild Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and/or to contact them directly about their work. These top award winners will also receive an invitation to include their award winning artwork in Fusion Art’s gallery on Artsy.net.

In addition, eighteen honorable mention awards are given as special recognition due to the exceptional quality of the art received for this competition.

Honorable Mention awards in the Digital & Photography category are given to Harold Ashby for his digital photographic print, “Shaking Bear”, Kathy Brady for her digital photograph, “Black She-Wolf in Woods”, Lisa Marun for her photograph, “Off to Privet Drive”, Marcia Berg Haskell for her digital photograph, “Chipmunk”, Michael Hanley for his digital art, “Lizard Looking at the Stars”, Linda Hughes for her digital art, “Woodland Deer”, Brandin Barón for his digital mixed media, “Towering in Her Place of Pride” and Nick Dale for his photograph, “Leopard Looks Up From Perch in Tree”.

Honorable Mention awards in the 3-Dimensional category were given to Minh Ta for his driftwood and found objects, “Peacock” and Jeff Jones for his bronze on granite, “Capra Ibex”.

The remaining finalists in the exhibition all exemplify uniquely creative talents and we’re honored to showcase their artwork on the Fusion Art website.

As always, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the competition participants. While not all the artwork that was submitted was selected for inclusion in the exhibition this in not necessarily a reflection on any one artist’s talent and/or skill.  It takes courage for artists to offer up one’s art up for critique by others and all the artists should be applauded for their efforts. We appreciate all of you sharing your extraordinary talent with us.

For anyone interested in purchasing any of the artwork in this exhibition, please contact the artists directly. You will find the artist’s website and/or email information below their work.

Please visit our YouTube Channel to see the Traditional, Digital & Photography and 3-Dimensional videos for the exhibition.

Thank you for visiting our website and enjoy the exhibition!
