Welcome to Fusion Art’s Highways & Byways Quarterly International Online Juried Art Exhibition.

For this 11th quarterly art competition, the gallery invited both 2D and 3D artists to submit their best art and photography depicting highways and byways. From highways to country roads to booming Main streets, artists were invited to share with us their best art and photography depicting the open road. All artists, regardless of location or experience,  were encouraged to submit their work in any media.

We once again received a diverse collection of quality artwork from artists all around the world including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, India, Greece, Japan, South Korea and Spain.

In this quarterly themed exhibition Fusion Art presents awards in two categories: Traditional Art and Photography & Digital Art. The Highways & Byways Best in Show winners are Cher Pruys for her acrylic on paper, “Rear View Mirror” and Shelley Benjamin for her digital photograph, “Nebraska Landscape”. As the Best in Show winners, both Cher and Shelley, are invited to participate in Fusion Art’s 4th Annual Group Show in Palm Springs in 2020.

Other award winners include Second Place winners, Cathy Abramson for her oil on canvas, “Cathedral” and Natalie McGuire for her infrared digital photograph, “Pine Edged Road”. Third Place awards were given to Danny Janotta for his oil on canvas, “Palm Tree” and Will Nourse for his photograph, “The Road to the Mountain”. Fourth Place awards were given to Michael Manente for his painting, “Seventh Street” and Diamante Lavendar for her photograph, “Into New Country”. Fifth Place awards were given to Alejandra Gos for her pastel on mounted paper, “Morning Stroll” and Martha Nance for her digital photograph, “After the Ice Storm, Sewanee, TN”.

Please visit the Exhibition Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and/or to contact them directly about their work.

In addition, this month, eight honorable mention awards are given as special recognition due to the exceptional quality of the art received for this competition. Honorable Mention awards in the Traditional Art category were given to Richard Ostroff for his oil on canvas, “Immigration Road”, Lessa Clayton for her oil on stretched canvas, “Snow on Hannah Bridge”, Theodore Heublein for his watercolor on paper, “Boboli Gardens” and Marianne A. Simonin for her oil on canvas, “On My Way to You”.

Honorable Mention awards in the Photography & Digital category were given to Peter Connolly for his digital photograph, “Speed Limit 40”, Margaret King for her photograph, “Going Home After Work”, Pablo McLoud for his digital photograph, “Morning Mist” and Tyler Childress for his photograph, “Jesus Maria Road, Before the Fire”.

The remaining finalists in the exhibition all exemplify uniquely creative talents and we’re honored to showcase their artwork on the Fusion Art website.

Fusion Art strives to create interesting and enjoyable art exhibitions with a variety of artistic styles and media represented. For every Fusion Art exhibition, the art that is selected is based on the theme and the gallery’s objective is to include a broad representation of quality, style, media, creativity, originality and artistic composition. Art tells a story and we strive to select artwork, particularly for awards, that make the viewers think and wonder what story the artist is trying to tell.

As always, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the competition participants. While not all the artwork that was submitted was selected for inclusion in the exhibition this in not necessarily a reflection on any one artist’s talent and/or skill.  It takes courage for artists to offer up one’s art up for critique by others and all the artists should be applauded for their efforts. We appreciate all of you sharing your extraordinary talent with us.

For anyone interested in purchasing any of the artwork in this exhibition, please contact the artists directly. You will find the artist’s website and/or email information below their work.

Please visit our YouTube Channel to see the Traditional and Digital & Photography videos for the exhibition.

Thank you for visiting our website and enjoy the exhibition!
