Traditional Art
Elizabeth Burin
Elizabeth Burin is a freelance artist working in Baltimore. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in western Switzerland, she pursued a career as a medieval art historian and museum curator before turning to studio art in mid-life. She holds a Certificate of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and is a Signature Artist member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. She exhibits frequently in Maryland.
Elizabeth’s inspiration derives from her travels and above all from nature’s infinite variety of forms and textures. Starting from realistic observation, she translates these forms into the fluid and luminous medium of watercolor, layering transparent pigments to achieve brilliance. She often revisits a subject to enhance an expressive coloristic effect.
Please email Elizabeth directly if you are interested in purchasing her winning piece or visit her website if you are interested in seeing more of her work.
Digital Art & Photography
Margaret King
Margaret King is a photographer who found the art of picture-taking late in life as a means of expressing the beauty of the animals and flowers that visit and live in her backyard, a place of solace and non-conformity. In her backyard, she is an observer and learner who captures the lives and stories of the animals who visit and the plants that grow there. In the past year, she has expanded her backyard to mean anywhere she finds nature to photograph. She is interested in sharing her world of nature through pictures with children and adults.
In addition to Fusion Art (online) Margaret has exhibited her work at Arts Iliana; Athens County Library, Athens Ohio; The Las Laguna Gallery, Laguna Beach, California; The Studio Door, San Diego, California; Berkeley Arts Council, Martinsville, West Virginia; MAC650 Gallery, Middletown, Connecticut; Riverside Arts Center, Ypsilanti, Michigan; Art Center of Estes Park (Colorado) Online Gallery; Contemporary Art Gallery Online; and Light, Space, and Time Gallery Online. She is currently working with the teachers at an Early Childhood Center and local libraries to share photographs with the children and adults. She is interested in engaging the community through nature photos. Her work reflects an integration of the natural environment with photography.
