3rd Annual CityscapesArt ExhibitionJune 2018
Welcome to Fusion Art’s 3rd Annual Cityscapes International Online Juried Art Exhibition for the month of June 2018.
For this competition artists and photographers worldwide were encouraged to share their best art and photography depicting Cityscapes. The theme included any art or photography which depicted cities, towns, urban scenes and/or any related metropolitan subjects. All artists, over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best representational or abstract artwork.
We once again received a diverse collection of quality artwork from artists all around the world including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, Israel, the Republic of Korea, and India.
In this monthly themed exhibition Fusion Art presents awards in two categories: Traditional Art and Digital Art & Photography. The Cityscapes Best in Show winners are Allan Gorman for his oil on panel, “Manhattan Valley Overpass” and Philip Hopper for his photograph, “Columbus Circle Fog.” Both Allan and Philip are Fusion Art’s Featured Artists for the month of June 2018 and, as the Best in Show winners, both artists are invited to participate in Fusion Art’s 3rd Annual Group Show in Palm Springs in February 2019.
Other award winners include Second Place winners, John Jaster for his acrylic on wrapped canvas, “LA Commute” and Jim Tarpo for his multi-panel metal print, “Las Vegas Strip at Night.” Third Place awards were given to Hilary Burnett Cooper for her acrylic painting, “Sharing an Umbrella” and Don Agnello for his digital print, “ABSTRACTION #14.” Fourth Place awards were given to Cathy Boyer for her oil on canvas, “Grand Sentinel” and Trish Hoskin for her digital art, “Home and Fountain.” Fifth Place awards were given to Raymond Sammak for his oil on canvas, “We Deliver” and Barbara Mierau-Klein for her digitally enhanced photograph, “Central Park.”
Please visit the Monthly Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and/or to contact them directly about their work.
In addition, this month, eight honorable mention awards are given as special recognition due to the exceptional quality of the art received for this competition. Honorable Mention awards in the Traditional Art category are given to David Manuel for his oil on canvas, “Church and Dundas”, John Ressler for his watercolor, “London Work Party”, Pam Folsom for her oil on canvas, “Over the Rhine” and Guglielmo Botter for his pen and ink, “Pittsburgh, PA: View from atop Benedum Trees Building.”
Honorable Mention awards in the Digital & Photography category are given to Constance Vepstas for her digital print, “View From The Window”, John Waiblinger for his archival inkjet print on metallic photopaper, “City of Angels”, Francis O’Donnell for his digital photograph, “Reflections on a Dream” and Margaret Makowski for her digital photograph, “SanFran.”
The remaining finalists in the exhibition all exemplify uniquely creative talents and we’re honored to showcase their artwork on the Fusion Art website.
As always, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the competition participants. While not all the artwork that was submitted was selected for inclusion in the exhibition this in not necessarily a reflection on any one artist’s talent and/or skill. It takes courage for artists to offer up one’s art up for critique by others and all the artists should be applauded for their efforts. We appreciate all of you sharing your extraordinary talent with us.
For anyone interested in purchasing any of the artwork in this exhibition, please contact the artists directly. You will find the artist’s website and/or email information below their work.
